Fundamentals Class Description   Back to Class Dates & Location

Fundamentals is a 2-day class. It is for new users of either the Standard or Extended versions of Sage Estimating as well as existing users who are familiar with the software and are wanting to learn more. The goal of this class is to acquaint users with all the functionality of the Standard version of the software and to lay the groundwork for users of the Extended version of the software.

• Setting up estimates
• Performing takeoff using Assembly, Item and Quick Takeoff
• Working with the totals page
• Manipulating the estimate
• Creating Timberline reports
• Creating formulas and assemblies
• Job Cost Interface
• Working with File Tools
• Working with, modifying and protecting your Database
• Timberline Explorer Overview

Prerequisites:

A working knowledge of Windows (able to navigate using the mouse and toolbar)

Assemblies Class Description

Assemblies is a 1-day class. It is for new or current users of Sage Estimating Standard or Sage Estimating Extended. The goal of this class is to acquaint users with all the functionality of Assemblies.

Topics covered are:

• How to plan Assemblies
• Assembly formula building
• Building Assemblies
• Testing Assemblies
• Adding help documentation to your Assemblies
• Building 1 and 2 dimensional Item Tables
• Using more than 2 variables for Item Tables
• Using Select-at-Takeoff

Prerequisites: 

• A working knowledge of Windows (able to navigate using the mouse and toolbar)
• Completion of the Fundamentals Class (or a working knowledge of Sage Estimating and formulas)
